HISTORICAL POINTS

The Val Tartano and its valleys possess numerous panoramic natural beauties, and is well-known for its breeding and agriculture.
Its enclosed position has conditioned the development of its population, creating a situation of isolation, which in turn has helped protect its original urban origins, nothing has changed apart from the reconstruction of the church between 1912 and 1923.
Once part of the territory was a feud between The Bishop of Como and the Abbazia of S. Dionigi of Paris with that of the community of Tartano.
As of today the community is made up of 20 ‘contradas’ of the original 30 distributed between the heights of 950 and 1500 mt.

The Wood Museum is also of great interest.
